What Is Paint Correction?

Paint correction is a multi-stage detailing process designed to remove imperfections or defects from your vehicle’s paintwork. This professional treatment restores the paint to pristine condition, rejuvenates the vehicle’s appearance, and protects the paintwork.

Do I Need Paint Correction?

Maintaining pristine paint is crucial for your vehicle’s longevity and value. Untreated minor imperfections can lead to costly repairs and devalue your car or motorcycle. If you notice any imperfections, a professional paint correction service is necessary.

Our Professional Paint Correction Service Can Fix:

  • Defective paintwork
  • Paint oxidation (fading)
  • Surface scratches
  • RIDS (Random Isolated Deep Scratches)
  • Scuff marks
  • Road tar
  • Bird droppings and dead bug etching
  • Spiderweb swirls
  • Water spots
  • Buffer trails, marring, and holograms from unskilled detailing

Overview of the Paint Correction Procedure

Step 1: Wash and Clay Bar

We start by removing contaminants from the paint surface with a thorough hand wash and clay bar treatment. The automotive clay bar, a non-abrasive resin mixture, eliminates all foreign matter and pollutants from the paint’s tiny pores.

Step 2: Wet Sanding or Leveling (If Required)

For scratches or blemishes that standard techniques can’t remove, wet sanding is necessary. Using automotive sandpaper, we level and gently remove the top layer of paint. This is followed by compounding, polishing, and jeweling to ensure all imperfections are removed before buffing and polishing.

Step 3: Buffing and Polishing

The buffing and polishing process varies depending on factors like the clear coat type and the severity of imperfections. Wet-sanded vehicles often require a multi-step process involving different polishing pads and treatments.

Step 4: Sealing and Paint Protection

Once paint correction is complete, we seal the paintwork with a durable paint protection sealant or coating. This provides a glossy, hydrophobic surface that minimizes further scratching, repels water, blocks dirt, and offers ongoing protection. The type of sealant or coating depends on the paint correction service you choose.
